Visit any allotment site or any piece of land cultivated for productive crops and you will see that most allotment-holders boast their own, often quirky, compost heaps. All the green waste from their gardening labours is added to the heap, making sure that no waste leaves the plot – closing the cultivation ‘loop’.

| Remember if you cannot compost at home you can take all your green waste to your local Household Waste Recycling Site (HWRS) or it can be collected from your kerbside. The green waste is then taken to a composting facility where it is turned into organic soil conditioner – ‘Reclaim’. |
